ARP, the industry leader in performance fasteners, has released a new harmonic damper bolt kit for the Dodge Viper SRT-10. Each kit includes one 8740 chrome moly bolt (3/4-16 x 2.200 inches UHL) nominally rated at 190,000 psi, one chrome moly ground and chamfered washer, and a 1/2-oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Lubricant.
All ARP bolts are cold forged to ensure molecular integrity, are heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and are reusable as compared to the OEM torque to yield bolts. Optimum design, enhanced reliability, and increased strength are the main attributes of ARP Harmonic Damper Bolt Kits. ARP’s products are manufactured in the U.S. and are available worldwide through local distributors.
A critical part on engines with long crankshafts, such as V-8s or a Viper’s V-10, a harmonic damper is fitted to the free, accessory-drive end of the crankshaft. Designed with a specific mass for the application, the harmonic damper helps improve the life of the crankshaft by countering the harmonics and torsional vibrations.
