Odyssey’s Extreme Series batteries give a ton of cranking power and deep-cycle reserve power. These batteries are able to provide engine-cranking pulses of at least 2250 amps for five seconds, which is double or even triple what equally sized conventional batteries do. At 80-percent depth of discharge, the Odyssey Extreme Series batteries can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles.
The flat plates are not made of lead alloy but rather 99.99 percent pure lead, which can be thinner and therefore more can fit in the battery. This leads to less “dead space” between cylinders and 15 percent more plate surface area. The Odyssey Extreme Series batteries have dry-cell absorbed glass mat technology for acid containment, so the battery can even be installed on its side.
