Porsche Cayman GT4 Race to the Clouds

Yokohama Tire and Porsche Motorsport North America are taking on the mountain again in the world-renowned Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

For the second year in a row, Yokohama is partnering with Porsche Motorsport North America and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Organization as the sponsor and exclusive tire supplier for the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama.

Yokohama, celebrating its 50th anniversary in the USA, will supply each of the Porsche entries with ADVAN A052 high-performance, street-legal tires and support throughout the event. Action sports star and Nitro Circus founder Pastrana won the inaugural class last year and is set to defend his title in the “Race to the Clouds” on June 30, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Pastrana will race against five others in the invitation-only Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy class, including fellow Nitro Circus performer Blake “Bilko” Williams, George Hess, Phil Bloom, Marc Bunting and Gustav Lundh.

“I had more fun at last year’s Pikes Peak Hill Climb than I have had at any event in a very long time,” Pastrana said. “It’s a week of driving a historic and epic road in a fun class with some amazing drivers. This year is going to be even more fun because my friend and competitor Bilko Williams will be racing against me in the same division. This year is going to be one hell of a close race and I can’t wait!”

Porsche’s recently debuted 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and the previous-generation Cayman GT4 race car are both eligible to compete in the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama division, which is also known as the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy by Yokohama.

This might be the second time for the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy class, but Porsche has been to the mountain before, taking its first win in 1958. Here’s a video about Porsche’s storied history and the inaugural Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy class in 2018:
