SEMA: 67 Restored LeMans

In this clip from SEMA, meet `67 LeMans restorer Eli DeWitt who always played with cars or in the shop watching his Dad until he was old enough to wrench. His 1967 Pontiac Le Mans was discovered in his neighbor’s garage buried beneath computers. The frame itself was in relatively good shape, but was in need of some rust work.

The results of his 1,000-hour, frame-off rotisserie restoration are nothing short of extraordinary. Beneath the hood lies the original Pontiac 400 which was bored over to a 408. More power is added through the Quick Fuel Technology 650CFM Black Diamond carburetor and upgraded cam. A Frostbite Radiator keeps everything running cool. A local shop custom bent the exhaust which also includes Quick Time Performance electric exhaust cutouts.

The detailed body work includes shaved bumpers, tightening of all the gaps, and removal of the chrome trim pieces. The body was sprayed in Axalta Mosaic Victory Red and over 100+ hours of wet sanding and buffing went into the car resulting in a mirror-like finish. The remaining chrome and stainless-steel pieces were refinished in Chrysler Pewter Grey Perl to match the US Mag Rambler wheels. Ultra-high-performance Nitto NT555 tires keep the Pontiac glued to the road. Inside the cab, everything is original with exception of an added tach gauge mounted beneath the radio.
