Enter the Volvo 850 Wagon. Back in its heyday, this 1990s wagon was one of the top cars in the wagon segment and even earned the Japanese “1994 Good Design Grand Prize” award. It may have only had a three-year production run, but it was a beast on the road. So what do you get when you combine the Volvo 850 with YouTuber Krimson37?
Straight carnage. When you have a junkyard sitting around and a ’90s wagon with nearly 300K miles on it, what else are you supposed to do but to see just how much abuse this wagon can take before it no longer functions? This “extreme crash test” shows the Volvo-that-could utterly destroy a mass of compacts, sedans, trailers, and more.
While Krimson37 claims that the 850 hasn’t received any modifications, we’re curious to see just how well it holds up, even after getting its entire rear flattened into a sedan configuration after a bout of hard body rolls. If it’s true and no mods were made, then this ’90s wagon really is the best poster child for Swedish engineering.
