Thermo-Tec’s Adhesive-Backed Heat Barrier protects components from radiant heat and helps keep sensitive automotive parts from getting too hot.
It can be used to protect painted surfaces, plastic parts or any component from the damaging effects of radiant heat.
The Adhesive-Backed Heat Barrier is made up of woven silica with a flexible aluminized finish. The highly reflective surface of the material is capable of withstanding radiant temperatures up to 2000° F. The adhesive-backed side handles direct and continuous temperatures up to 300ºF. Peel and stick the adhesive to just about any surface to create a thermal shield for sensitive components, plastic parts and vulnerable painted surfaces.
The following video shows the dune buggy built back in 1986 by the inventor and founder of Thermo-Tec. It has been locked away in a shed for more than 20 years.
The exhaust wrap on the buggy is the original wrap that was installed in 1986, still intact.
